I have been taking the Lehr Family pictures since Gavin was just a tiny little baby. We’ve celebrated birthdays and holidays and a new baby brother, Tripp. Plus I have known Sherie since we were little kids. This year we shot in Sewanee and I just love the checkered Tennessee overalls on the boys!
Read MoreSophia is my little baby cousin. Right now she’s living in Washington DC but she came in for a visit and a fun little Summer Session with me. Sophia is literally a ray of sunshine. Her energy is contagious. She was SO EXCITED about everything that she saw, it really made me stop and look at this city with new eyes. We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and made a loop. We walked from the bridge to the Tennessee Riverwalk, to the waterways around the aquarium, we pet a horse that pulls the carriages on Broad Street, and we made our way back to The Ice Cream Show.
Read MoreDana and I had such a hard time nailing down the perfect date for these. You see, all three of her boys play baseball, so their schedules are extra tight! We finally had an opportunity to take them. The weather was great, the sunshine was golden, and it was an easy session.
Read MoreSarah and Brandon traveled to Chattanooga from Kentucky to spend some time visiting her family. Even though this was my first time meeting them both, it felt a lot like hanging out with old friends.We laughed and joked and tried to find patches of shade to hide from the harsh sun in! These midday sessions are turning out to be some of my favorites, the colors are so crisp and I am really loving the shadows and contrast!
Read MoreLyndi has been with me for years now. I have been there for pregnancy announcements, her wedding, birthdays and milestones. Watching her grow as well as her children, those connections are one of my most favorite parts of my job. So when she asked me if I could come to their home, to capture them in their environment, I jumped at it. She needed new branding images for her website and blog, Blessed & Obsessed and new portraits of the family and kids. Portraits don’t need to be posed and perfection. Sometimes you just need to capture the every day.
Read MoreThis was hands down, one of my easiest sessions to date. The girls flowed seamlessly from one frame to the next. Our personalities clicked, we bonded over how we like to bargain shop and decorate for holidays. We got giddy over the lights on the square (side note: Town of Jasper can we please have them all year, we could be like Star’s Hollow, I promise that everyone would love it!). Jay got her serious face on. Alison cracked up. It was a fun, fun session. Which is the goal for every session I have.

Of course Hayden is a foot taller than me now, crazy! They brought Mike, Morgan and Blaire with them too! Such a beautiful session at sunset under the fall leaves.

Read MoreSo Misti wrote me, asking about doing an extended family session. Clients always seem a little hesitant like I might get scared off at the thought of having more than 5-6 people in front of my lens. Let me tell you though, I. LOVE. It! The more, the merrier.
And this group was no exception. We all had so much fun early in the day. It’s kind of tricky getting everyone’s schedules together so we shot around 1pm. The sun was high but it was a little breezy and balmy. The perfect afternoon for a session.

The Coffelt Family came to me for the very first time this year and I was thrilled to work with them. Tia, Chris and Emma were so much fun! They came in their best Fall clothes and lo and behold it was 94 degrees on that fine October day. BUT they toughed it out and we made some magic in that quick ten minutes!
