Let me start with the first time I met Sierra. She came to me as a single mother of two boys for a family session. The next session we had was a family session last year after she literally met the love of her life, Alex who came with a boy and girl of his own. Our next time shooting was at their elopement at Greenway Farms when they combined their big blended family - it was literal magic. Two people in love with four small children. This time, when Sierra reached out to me, she had a big secret. Scroll on to see what it was. And the kids reaction to the news!
Read MoreWe shot this session on May 29th, which in any other reality would be relatively warm, but we had a major cold front come through. It was windy and chilly. In between each shot we had to cover the kids back up. Despite the goosebumps, I think we got some really great images and it was a really fun session. I’ve known Sylvia for SO long, and seeing her with her children was so special.
Read MoreErica warned me beforehand that Adam hates having his picture made. BUT I think he even had a little fun! We shot at the Jasper Highlands. They are both so excited to be parents and I cannot even believe how beautiful Erica is. Just absolutely glowing.
Read MoreMarion County’s very own Johnny and June celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They asked me to take their family portraits in August at the Wren’s Nest in Monteagle, TN. They brought together their entire family, Lindsay, Brent, Asher and Beckett; Lauren, Joe and Will. This session was a complete and total breeze.

Read MoreThis session was a dream. Beautiful family, perfect sunset, amazing little girls and twin boys on the way. I have known Robbie for basically my entire life. It was such an honor that she traveled home to Tennessee from Florida for this session. It was an even bigger honor to meet her husband and two sweet girls.
Read MoreSarah reached out to me about a session for her and her family. Let me just tell you, this was a wonderful family to meet and get to know. They were all four so sweet and fun to spend time with. We started at their home, which was amazing, they have incredible views. We then moved to private property that belongs to a family friend. Last we made a quick stop at the Primitive Church.
Read MorePhotographing blended families can sometimes be stressful. Sometimes you will feel more like a therapist than a photographer. It can be tricky to navigate the waters of family dynamics, particularly if there’s tension between the children and a step-parent. More often than not, you’ll need a few tactics to help you through it. Today I want to offer you five simple tried and true techniques for your next blended family session.
Read MoreDana and I had such a hard time nailing down the perfect date for these. You see, all three of her boys play baseball, so their schedules are extra tight! We finally had an opportunity to take them. The weather was great, the sunshine was golden, and it was an easy session.
Read MoreEvery year I donate to the silent auction held locally at Sequatchie Valley Electric Co-operative. This year Shanda won the session. I always love meeting new people and Shanda, Tyler and Will were so much fun. We shot on their friend’s farm and it was absolutely beautiful. They even had a tiny baby goat at the end for Will to love on!!
ps: my day was 100% made when they brought out that kid, if you know me, I LOVE goats!!
Read MoreGerry reached out to me wanting to schedule a session for him and his daughter Ansley. They were traveling to Chattanooga from Nashville for the weekend and wanted some fun, candid shots to document their vacation. When they first arrived, Ansley was being shy and hiding behind her daddy’s back. She came out of her shell pretty quickly when I started talking about adventure. We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and walked down to the Passageway, we got our feet wet and then made our way back to the Ice Cream Show for a snack to cool down with.
Read MoreBridget, Lotchia and Karsten came to see me on a beautiful, warm Spring day. We spent some time at the park, we played and we laughed. Karsten had a blast chasing the ducks and throwing grass into the pond. Such a wonderfully sweet family.

Cameron wanted their session at her alma mater, The University of the South at Sewanee, TN. This session was easy and so much fun. Early Spring is beautiful in Sewanee, if you’ve not been, you should go. The buttercups bloom and the entire campus comes alive.
Read MoreThis is what my year has been like. Extra busy and SO blessed. 163 sessions, plus four weddings, one promo video for a preschool and 10 Senior Rep Modeling sessions! I also shot the entire Kimball Soccer League in both the Spring and the Fall AND I taught two separate photography classes!! I was published twice and asked to speak on a panel in front of Girl Scouts. Here's a small sampling of some of my favorite images from this year, there's at least one from each session!! Can you spot yourself?
I don't even know where to start with expressing my gratitude. Clients, please just know that I love you all so much, and thank you, from the bottom of my heart for letting me wake up every day and live my dream!
Jessica contacted me after finding my website. She needed updated family portraits of her, her husband Evan and their two daughters Lola and Lucy. I had just recently been given permission to shoot at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. With it being so close to Christmas, I knew this would be the perfect location for our shoot. It was absolutely stunning. I am leaning heavily towards less posed portraits and really loving the feel of these intimate, documentary style images. Jessica’s family is so sweet, and I just loved working with them.
Read MoreThis was my second shoot with this little family, and I just love each one of them. They are so sweet and loving towards one another. Adri had grown SO much since her six months shoot.
Read MoreShannon came to see me with her mom and dad, and her grandmother. Such a fun and easy going family. She told me beforehand that not a single one of them was a fan of having their pictures made. In spite of that, they were all very loose and laid back in front of my camera. And these were some of my favorites from Fall.
Read MoreI love this sweet little family. This is my third year shooting their Fall Portraits. So I’ve gotten to grow right along with Walker. The very first thing I learned about him three years ago is that he will let me take amazing images of him, but on his terms, and I have to follow his lead. Which is fine by me, most kids his age are the same way. I have loved getting to know his parents too. Marc and Leigh are such genuinely kind people. Here are a few of my favorites from their session.
Read MoreDogs are always welcome. Especially when they are named Max and are as cute as this puppy right here!! Cassie, Cade, Lucy and Lyla (and Max!) came to see me for a Limited Edition Session in the Fall. This was their first session with me but I sure do hope they come back for many more. They have the sweetest girls. A bit shy but they loosened up pretty quick :)
Read MoreOh this sweet little family! Felicia, Shane and Natalie came to see me on a perfect day towards the end of our Fall colors here in Tennessee. I made sure to send Natalie home completely dirty and in need of a new pair of white tights! But I believe Felicia has forgiven me since then :)
