Throughout the years I have shot prom pictures in a lot of different locations. Walnut Street Bridge is always the most requested but with a late prom this year, I already knew it would be JAM packed. So we opted for a rooftop in the West Village and I have to say, this is one of my most favorite prom years, to date!

They brought together their entire family, Lindsay, Brent, Asher and Beckett; Lauren, Joe and Will. This session was a complete and total breeze.

It was SO hot but from the looks on the boys’ faces, you could never tell. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot too!

They were all four so sweet and fun to spend time with. We started at their home, which was amazing, they have incredible views. We then moved to private property that belongs to a family friend. Read MoreSophia is my little baby cousin. Right now she’s living in Washington DC but she came in for a visit and a fun little Summer Session with me. Sophia is literally a ray of sunshine. Her energy is contagious. She was SO EXCITED about everything that she saw, it really made me stop and look at this city with new eyes. We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and made a loop. We walked from the bridge to the Tennessee Riverwalk, to the waterways around the aquarium, we pet a horse that pulls the carriages on Broad Street, and we made our way back to The Ice Cream Show.

We spent part of the session in a big open field, but then we quickly realized we were losing the kids attention, so we took them over to the playground. Seriously, it couldn’t have been a better idea. They played and laughed and we got the best smiles!

They were traveling to Chattanooga from Nashville for the weekend and wanted some fun, candid shots to document their vacation. When they first arrived, Ansley was being shy and hiding behind her daddy’s back. She came out of her shell pretty quickly when I started talking about adventure. We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and walked down to the Passageway, we got our feet wet and then made our way back to the Ice Cream Show for a snack to cool down with.

So when she contacted me about documenting her and her best friend’s graduation from college at Dalton State, of course I said yes! This session was way easy, except for the mosquitoes that nearly carried us away! Both of these women are so amazing. They worked SO hard, raising kids and going to school at the same time.

She and her husband and daughter, her sister, and two nephews, and her brother were coming in from Colorado and Wyoming. Read MoreWhen we were very little Cameron and I used to go to church together at Jasper First Baptist. Now, as an adult, Cameron is married to Michael and together they have a son named Camdan. Cameron wanted their session at her alma mater, The University of the South at Sewanee, TN. This session was easy and so much fun. Early Spring is beautiful in Sewanee, if you’ve not been, you should go. The buttercups bloom and the entire campus comes alive.

Read MoreI had never met Brynna and Dennis before our session. So I was very excited to meet them and their children. As we started shooting my (very) expensive 70-200 lens DIED. I was confused and I have to be honest, it threw me for a minute. I panicked. I don’t know why, maybe just because I’m a panicky person. BUT I recovered pretty quickly, I threw on my 35mm and settled back into my session. Brynna and her family are SO much fun. They’re warm and welcoming. It was really easy to capture the dynamics of their family.
