Let me start with the first time I met Sierra. She came to me as a single mother of two boys for a family session. The next session we had was a family session last year after she literally met the love of her life, Alex who came with a boy and girl of his own. Our next time shooting was at their elopement at Greenway Farms when they combined their big blended family - it was literal magic. Two people in love with four small children. We shot this session on May 29th, which in any other reality would be relatively warm, but we had a major cold front come through. It was windy and chilly. In between each shot we had to cover the kids back up. Despite the goosebumps, I think we got some really great images and it was a really fun session. I’ve known Sylvia for SO long, and seeing her with her children was so special.

Clint, Sara, Max and Duckie came to see me all the way from Indiana! They were just the sweetest little family. We hit some of the usual spots, took Max to cool off at the Passageway next to the Aquarium and Duckie (who’s a certified rescue dog!) even got to meet one of Chattanooga’s finest!

We make sure to get new sessions as soon as possible, because her kids are just growing so fast. We shot these early in the morning at Little Cedar Mountain Trail. I think adventuring really helps to loosen kids up and we can really capture those perfect candid moments.

Robinson Wedding with Elope Chattanooga

I was so tickled to shoot Isiah and Ripal’s elopement wedding on the terrace at the Hunter Art Museum. The wedding was officiated by Shaun Mosley of Elope Chattanooga. Ripal and her family are of the Hindu faith and there were several elements present in their ceremony. The couple exchanged rings and then placed beautiful floral malas around each other’s necks. After they touched the feet of Ripal’s mother and Isiah’s parents as a sign of respect. It was such a beautiful day, after the ceremony we walked down to the Walnut Street Bridge for more portraits.

Get ready for an overload of pictures. I couldn’t narrow it down. Here’s wishing them both a lifetime of happiness and love.

This is my third time shooting Cheryl’s sweet grandkids. This year she asked if we could do a campfire session. She and Kevin joined Weston and Hanson for a fun shoot this summer. It was SO hot but from the looks on the boys’ faces, you could never tell. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot too!

Every year I donate to the silent auction held locally at Sequatchie Valley Electric Co-operative. This year Shanda won the session. I always love meeting new people and Shanda, Tyler and Will were so much fun. We shot on their friend’s farm and it was absolutely beautiful. They even had a tiny baby goat at the end for Will to love on!!

ps: my day was 100% made when they brought out that kid, if you know me, I LOVE goats!!

Jessica and Aaron and their two sweet babies Brantley and Addison wanted a carnival session. We had one scheduled for the National Cornbread Festival and poor Brantley was diagnosed with the FLU a day before!! Fortunately, there was another carnival coming close by to Valley Fest in Dunlap, TN. We were able to reschedule. Brantley had a blast riding rides! Addison wasn’t too happy because there was only one ride they would let her on, but towards the end we got her some cotton candy and she was in heaven!

One day in April Katie contacted me to schedule a family session for her entire extended family. She and her husband and daughter, her sister, and two nephews, and her brother were coming in from Colorado and Wyoming. When we were very little Cameron and I used to go to church together at Jasper First Baptist. Now, as an adult, Cameron is married to Michael and together they have a son named Camdan. Cameron wanted their session at her alma mater, The University of the South at Sewanee, TN. This session was easy and so much fun. Early Spring is beautiful in Sewanee, if you’ve not been, you should go. The buttercups bloom and the entire campus comes alive.

When Tracie, Chris, Jake and Jared came to see me, Tracie asked if it was was ok to bring their puppy Mally. I always love when people bring along their dogs so of course I told her yes! This pup, was literally the most well behaved and smartest dogs I have ever been around. I was incredibly impressed by how well trained she is. ANYWAYS, back to the humans - This family is so sweet. Max turned one right at the beginning of January! I have known Mandy, Max’s mom, since I was a little girl and I’ve been photographing their family for so long I felt right at home. It was SO HARD to narrow down a preview from all of the images. These are a few of my favorites though.

If you are having a birthday party and want to really be present (and not stuck behind a cell phone or camera) the whole time, then I highly recommend hiring a photographer for your child’s day.

Phew! Let me tell you, the world conspired against us on getting this session done. I know it rained once, maybe sickness was the second reason, at this point I can’t remember. But it took us several reschedules to get this session. Because we were literally just out of time (she was going to have the baby!) we wound up having to shoot mid-day, which is not ideal so far as the light goes, BUT if you come to a professional photographer they will know how to make the light work in your favor. This set is BEAUTIFUL. Megan is always gorgeous. Her husband and sweet boys are just so much fun. I especially love the last image, in the whirlwind that comes with having your third boy, I wanted to capture something creatively that shows how fast life moves.
