Last we made a quick stop at the Primitive Church.
Read MoreFive years ago I was a BROKE single mother. When I say broke I mean, broke city. I was on food stamps, living in an income based, two bedroom apartment with two kids. Crying daily about how to make ends meet. I eventually got a sort of decent job, in the media department at a local company. When I say “sort of decent” I mean, I was still broke, but I was actually able to pay bills, with a little crying and a lot of money maneuvering.

Read MoreSophia is my little baby cousin. Right now she’s living in Washington DC but she came in for a visit and a fun little Summer Session with me. Sophia is literally a ray of sunshine. Her energy is contagious. She was SO EXCITED about everything that she saw, it really made me stop and look at this city with new eyes. We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and made a loop. We walked from the bridge to the Tennessee Riverwalk, to the waterways around the aquarium, we pet a horse that pulls the carriages on Broad Street, and we made our way back to The Ice Cream Show.

Seriously, it couldn’t have been a better idea. They played and laughed and we got the best smiles!
Read MoreI am so, so proud that Twila came to me for her engagement pictures. She and Dru needed engagement photos and they needed them quickly. They had one day available before they leave to go get married. We had a whirlwind of a day considering we started with a 90% chance of rain, which slowly diminished as the day went on. Eventually we were still able to shoot, and even caught a few in the rain.

We started at the Walnut Street Bridge and walked down to the Passageway, we got our feet wet and then made our way back to the Ice Cream Show for a snack to cool down with.

This session was way easy, except for the mosquitoes that nearly carried us away! Both of these women are so amazing. They worked SO hard, raising kids and going to school at the same time.
