Let me start with the first time I met Sierra. She came to me as a single mother of two boys for a family session. The next session we had was a family session last year after she literally met the love of her life, Alex who came with a boy and girl of his own. Our next time shooting was at their elopement at Greenway Farms when they combined their big blended family - it was literal magic. Two people in love with four small children. Shooting for another photographer can always be a little nerve wracking, but Lexie is so sweet it was honestly a breeze. I am always so in my element with events. I shoot a lot of them, birthday parties, anniversaries, baby showers, they are a specialty of mine. This was no different, her family and friends were all so warm and welcoming. I don’t even know where to begin telling you about Jackie. I have known her for most of my life. She’s my yoga instructor. She’s my friend and someone I look up to in so many ways. She’s beautiful and strong and her soul is made of gold. When she asked me to come to Southern Soul (where she teaches on Saturday mornings) for a sunrise session to use for her marketing, I immediately said yes. And let me be honest, there are very few people I would wake up that early for!

Every year Margaret brings sweet Sophia to me for updated portraits. Sophia is a little shy in front of the camera (not at all in real life) but it always takes her a minute to loosen up and be herself. But when she does, watch OUT. She’s a complete natural tiny model. At our session she told me all about her Halloween costume, and that she was going to the Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree the next day. Oh, I forgot to mention I am like four months behind on editing lol. Please enjoy these images of Sophia, in the woods, doing her thing and jumping really high.

I’m going to start this blog post by letting you know, I LOVE Lilli! I am so glad I chose her as one of my Senior Rep Models. She’s a 2019 Senior at Richard Hardy Memorial School in South Pittsburg, TN. She’s so well rounded, so down to earth and so, so laid back. Her session was one of the easiest I’ve ever shot. I asked her to mess up her hair and she did. I asked her spin around and walk towards me at least 90343 times and she did, with a badly sprained ankle from volleyball! She’s a great student, a wonderful daughter, a quirky girl and so much fun to be around. I had a really hard time narrowing these down!!

First of all, these two tiny baby clients are from Atlanta, GA (about 2.5 hours from me) and their mama drove ALL the way up here so that I could take their portraits! That was definitely a first for me!!

Wehunt Lifestyle Newborn Session

So one of my goals for 2019 is to shoot a LOT more in-home lifestyle sessions. I no longer shoot posed newborn sessions, but I am IN LOVE with shooting babies in their own homes, in the arms of their parents. Heather and Michael invited me in to capture what it was like during Maddox’s first few weeks at home. He was a complete dream, he slept the entire time and barely made a peep. The Wehunt home is stunning with such a clean, farmhouse vibe. And holy cow, how cute and sweet is Jeter?!

This session was SO special to me. For the following reasons: Tia and her beautiful family have been coming to me for Fall Portraits since Adrian was a little baby. Tia was right on the precipice of graduating with her bachelor’s degree as an elementary school teacher. They brought Tia’s mother Tina and her nephew Man AND they brought Tyler’s parents too! Tyler’s mother was my third grade teacher. AND THE BIGGEST REASON WHY THIS WAS SPECIAL: Tia was a few weeks along expecting a sweet new baby and it was still a secret!!

Fall Mini Sessions are always one of my favorite events of the year. I get to see some of my favorite families and meet several new families too. The Coffelt Family came to me for the very first time this year and I was thrilled to work with them. Tia, Chris and Emma were so much fun! She told me that Savanna was showing interest in modeling and wanted to see if she liked being in front of the camera. First and foremost, Savanna is BEAUTIFUL! Secondly, she’s a total natural.
